West Valley Summer

For years I have been saying that I would be sure to take pictures of the wheat and other grains during the summer. The West Willamette Valley turns into fields of gold everywhere, and then sadly, at least for aesthetics, it is all harvested. But for a few weeks every year, the place is truly golden.

Chris-
I always enjoy your pics. Thanks. On another note; any guesses why no one is commenting on your blog? Just thought I'd ask your opinion.

Ken,

That's a good question. There are probably a number of reasons. One of them might be that there are multiple websites now, GROL, the PAC, Wink's, Andy Jenness', I think even Deb Giffen has one too. Two, I don't quite post as often as I should, which will change soon. Last, I think some of the more vocal people all seem to be taking a hiatus, for who knows what reason...
Those are my guesses anyway. Still doesn't mean I'm gonna quit :)

For the last two years the field that attaches to our back yard has been wheat and it is the most gorgeous crop in the world...the wind blows it and it is beautiful.

I tried to snap a few shots of it, but they were not as good as yours...
