A New Low

This blog entry is definitely not positive. But right now I am upset enough to not care. For anybody who is interested, last night Angie Blackwell put up two brand new campaign signs along Grand Ronde Rd. While driving to the office this morning, I saw they had both been stolen. Neither had lasted much more than 12 hours.
For those who might remember, Buddy West had a banner disappear completely a few weeks back. My own luck has been good so far, although I did have to retrieve one of my signs from some bushes last week. This sign is encased in a heavy metal frame and drove in deep, so I know that the wind couldn't have moved it so far.
These signs are not cheap. They add up after a while. I just hope that the people who feel the need to do this haven't forgotten that there are better, and more legal ways, of voicing their opposition to us. Voting is one of them.

In my opinion, as an individual, each candidate has every right to put up signs or whatever other means they choose to elicit votes. When someone destroys what another does, that is disrespect; not only for the person, but for the membership as well.

Each member will vote their own way, based on their beliefs; what ever is going to happen will happen and some will be happy about it and some won't.

Personally, I would rather see someone just say "I'm not voting for you" rather than see signs destroyed, etc.

Perhaps one day people will be able to agree to disagree and leave it at that. I keep hoping it will anyway.

Sangretta,

Unfortunately, as you probably noticed, Angie's signs don't have a very long life expectancy. I would say that three more have disappeared over the least week. Poor Angie.
I have been more fortunate, as there hasn't been much aggressive action taken towards my other signs yet. I did have my sign up at the new espresso stand, but upon my last visit the two sisters who run the place informed me that somebody had stopped by and bad-mouthed me enough to where they thought it within their interests to take it down. They did not inform me who stopped by or what they said. They just politely informed me somebody clearly had issue with their keeping up my sign.
Oh well.
